it is your wife's visa application so she can go and to VFS global herself, and apply online. but dont forget she will need TB certificate, A1 English language pass, and all the supporting documents from you - to show your finances, relationship history, and accomodation in UK.

I will be doing the same myself soon. But i will apply online while in Thailand, though I am sure you can apply in UK, make the appointment then go to thailand. I think they will only offer appointments 1 week in advance. i am currently in uk and have already completed the online application but have not submitted. ( i have 3 to complete ). as long as i log into the application every few days it will refresh and last another 7 days.

good luck

Hi all,

Sorry to jump on the thread but I too will be in the same situation in a few months time. I am going back to LOS in September for two weeks, when my wife will submit her settlement application & supporting documents. We already have most things put together, English test done, TB test next month etc.

I am going to do the online application here in the UK before I go. But how far in advance should I do the online application to make sure of an appointment whilst I'm there with her? Are the appointments usually booked out well in advance or is it fairly easy to pick and choose your appointments dates? Ideally we will need an appointment for early in the second week of my trip, so should I apply online one, two, three weeks in advance of flying out??

Just one other thing. To get an idea of the questions on the application form and to gather the info required to complete it, I have a printout of the standard paper form. Is the online application identical questions or is the online form any different?

Thanks for your help

i think you can only make an appointment about 1 week in advance - so you wont be able to make an appointment until much nearer the date you wish to apply. I am sure the printout of the application you have will be the same as th online app. My gf will be applying in July - and I have already completed the online app but not submitted - as long as i log in every few days it will refresh the app. and keep it valid for another 7 days
