Hi everyone,

I have very much enjoyed reading all the info on here, does make me ever more curious though I admit, so thought id join and ask away.

Ive got three hospitals im willing to choose surgeons from. I had to narrow it down before it got too excessive and mind boggling! They are:

Bumrungrad

BangkokHospital

Yahnee

AND of course I have a list of possible surgeons in no particular order:

pichit

pitch

poomee

charan

tongtip

teerasit

preeyaphas

greechart

witoon

Has anyone reading thishad or know of someone that has had rhinoplasty done by one of the above? Inasking this question im after experience with an existing western nose. I havea slight hump nothing major and id like the tip turned down a bit. Id also likesomeone who can enhance the function of my nose...breathing isnt too greatthrough it.

Im also getting a BA butthink I should focus on one thing at a time. But if you have any info to add inregards to the above surgeons and this procedure please do.

Thanks so much inadvance biggrin.gif

Dr. Amorn Poomee practiced for many years in the US and Canada so has considerable experience with Western noses/faces.

If you were only after getting rid of the hump, that's very easy and doesn't call for much in the way of judgement calls by the surgeon... they basically just grind the bone down flat. You're unlikely to get a bad result on that with any qualified plastic surgeon.

However as you after also looking to have the tip turned down a bit etc, that is a much more complicated thing and you are quite right to be looking for a doc experienced with not only western nosed but western concepts of beauty.

It is important to be sure the surgeon is on the same wavelength as you in terms of the look you want, so while you can go ahead and book someone, make the final decision only after the consultation and only if you feel satisfied that you're on the same page.

Dr. Amorn tends to be very pain-staking and conservative, which is a plus IMO.

If you are coming from outside Thailand, be aware that the docs here do not usually do the computer generated images commonly done by plastic surgeons in the west, so it might be worth getting some consultations at home fuirst so that you can get a clear idea of how the work yo uhave in mind will look on your face. Sometimes the nose people dream of ends up not looking that well on them...it's a matter iof how it fits with the bone structure, other features etc.

That's re the cosmetic aspect. Now this bit about something to make it easier to breath through your nose is an entirely other matter. has an ENT specialist determine that there is a structural problem causing your breathing difficulties and recommended surgery for it? If not, I am doubtful. And if so, that type of surgery needs to be done by an ENT.

Should note that mildly deviated nasal septums tend to be blamed for a lot of things they are in fact not responsible for, and it is not uncommon for someone to undergo a septoplasty with little or no improvement to show for it.

Of course a severely deviated septum is another matter.

Need to get a clear handle on what your breathing issues are. If it's allergies, surgery is not going to help.

My choose would be Dr Suchart or Dr Preeyaphas at Bangkok hospital. I hear that if you ask Dr Pomee too many questions then he will refuse you.
