Based upon your advice last year I flew to Australia and received the one year non o within 2 days (I posted the passport from Newcastle). Thanks again for your valuable info. Greatly appreciated !!! Siamkid <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Siamkid agree 100% with Dr P - Is there any reason you did not use the consulate in Sydney?? Reason for question, I am also from Newcastle (waratah) and have used both Sydney & Brisbane in the past!

simcity
Dr pat pong , do you think the extraordinarily helpful Brisbane people are able to issue a retirement visa ? or just the visa O ? and what happen with the 3 year retirement visa ( announce 6 month ago ) ? dr_Pat_Pong
The announcement some months ago regarding three year visa's only covered Non-Immigrant Business visa's, not retirement visa's. Are you Australian ?
simcity
yes, dual passport ! Not 50 yet , but when that happen, just wonder if Brisbane can issue a retirement visa or just issue the visa O and me doing the stuff at soi samplu ?
dr_Pat_Pong
Police clearances in Australia and an Australian medical, together with expensive notorizations make Suan Phlu your very best, quickest and cheapest option IMHO

ThunderDuck
To finish the story ... Applied for the "O" multi today. "Visiting friends" not advisable ... its better to have an interest in the culture. Very helpful staff. Arrived 9am ... retrieved passport with multi "O" @ 10.30. Happy Camper. Mark Wolfe
What did you put in the box for "non-immigrant visas only" for "Local guarantor and address" and/or "Guarantor and address in Thailand"?
dr_Pat_Pong
Guarantor is a misnomer. They only want the names of referees ( and don't insist )
Mark Wolfe
Sorry for being so dim, but let me get this straight: You just walked in without any papers showing anything of the nature of business or being a journalist or anything and they gave you the 12-month multiple entry? As an American in Taiwan, could I just pop over to Perth and expect to sail through as well?
dr_Pat_Pong
Perth and Brisbane are fine, but a Media visa is hard to come by.
