Overseas Medical Insurance

Featured Replies

I Google'd C-visa and pulled up the attached pdf for Belgium visa requirements.

My Thai Girlfriend and I are off to the UK tomorrow...we do not have any Overseas Medical Insurance for her. I have not seen any such requirement stipulated for entry into the UK.

Anyone "quickly" know what the situation is with entry to the UK?

is your thai gf travelling to the uk on a tourist visa? if so, she will need medical insurance.

Yes... she is travelling on a Tourist Visa

It's not a legal requirement and not having cover will not prevent or delay her entering the UK, but if your girlfriend should be taken ill she would have to pay for any medical treatment. She could get free treatment in a NHS Hospital in the event of an emergency.

I always use World Nomads, you can buy it online http://www.worldnomads.com/travel-insurance/ and if you use the code "WNJUN11" there is a 7% discount.

Only initial emergency care in A&E. Any follow up treatment would be chargeable, as would any stay in hospital.

Insurance is not compulsory, but it is highly recommended.

If you click on "insurance" on the home page you can select "visa travel insurance"

Fill in the form and send it and they will email a reply with prices and contact details.

We were in Chiang Mai so we went to the office there.

Prices for our 90 day trip were between about 1600 and 4000 BHT

Sorry for the slight delay, we are in the UK now and Iv'e just checked ThaiVisa.
