Gambian man arrested with 3.1 kgs of 'ice'

BANGKOK: -- A Gambian man was arrested along with 3.1 kilogram of crystal meth at the Suvarnabhumi Airport yesterday morning, Narcotics Suppression Bureau Commander Pol Lt Gen Atithep Panchamanon told a press conference.

Following the tip-off that some Gambian national was hired to smuggle drugs into Thailand via the airport, police stake out until the spotted the 61-year-old suspect Lamin Camara, who arrived from Ethiopian's Adis Ababa City to travel to Cambodia's Panom Penh City so they took him to search.

Police found six packs of crystal meth in the shower cream and body lotion bottles. Camara initially confessed that he was hired to smuggle the drug at 3,000 USD in advance and another 5,000 USD when the job was done. He said he came to Thailand for the first time.

Thousands of times every year. People will never learn. There's always going to be a decoy. This idiot was the decoy. Hopefully the rest of the gang get caught.

He was better paid than the Iranian youths atleast.

every drugs bust that we see now on a weekly basis is always from a ' Tip Off ' , do they actaully catch anyone with out a tip off ?

Another idiot bites the dust. 61 yrs old looks like he is destined to die in the BKK Hilton

Yeh, where do the tip off's come from? The rest of the smuggling party. They need a fall guy, a distraction so they set up some mug and he's picked up by the airport police whilst the rest of them saunter through security with twice as much ice as the idiot who was tipped off as being the carrier. Why do the Thai police keep falling for it? Oldest trick in the book. In my opinion, if they are tipped off that one guy on the plane has this much ice, they should be stopping every suspicious passenger on the flight and searching them.

Cos they getting paid off by the big Boys , they are not falling for anything. they have achieved a pay off, the aim in any Thai police action the law is irrelevant, and have the cover of having pulled the Nigerian, looks like they doing something.

This fool got caught. His life is gone.

Life goes on for his boss, who will never have known even his name. This is the nature of the business we're talking about.
