At least four killed in Balochistan, Pakistan bomb blast

JAFFARABAD, PAKISTAN (BNO NEWS) -- At least four people were killed during a bomb blast in Pakistan's province of Balochistan, officials said Thursday.

The blast occurred at around 11:30 a.m. local time in the town of Dera Allahya, located in Pakistan's Jaffarabad district in Balochistan, when a remote controlled explosive device attached to a motorcycle targeted a state-owned vehicle from the Oil and Gas Development Corporation, the Nation reported.

The blast killed at least four people and injured another seven, while hospital officials of the district headquarters hospital Dera Allah Yar said five of the seven were in critical condition.

No group or terrorist organization has claimed responsibility of the bomb blast, but local authorities cordoned off the area to conduct investigations. Taliban militants and Baloch separatist nationalists are known for carrying out these types of attacks. Nationalist groups have for years developed insurgency activities in search of obtaining greater income from the region's natural resources such as natural gas.
