Study: Tall Women More Likely To Develop Cancer

Featured Replies

"The taller a woman is, the greater her risk of developing one of 10 different cancers, according to a new study published in the journal Lancet." http://thechart.blog...develop-cancer/

From what I understand, incidences of cancer in Asian women are generally lower than Western women. Usually this is attributed to things like diet and/or lifestyle, I wonder if that, in general, as Asian women tend to be a little shorter than Western women if this is a contributing factor as well?

FYI, I am a shortie, for a guy, so I'm not goofing on anybody. smile.gif

Reason for edit: Added the p.s.

p.s. Did anybody else look at the article and think that the woman in the middle of the pic is wearing a "Star Fleet" uniform? Kinda reminded me of Nurse Chappell (Majel Barrett) from the original Star Trek.

I take all these studies with a very large grain of salt. As stated in the article there are other much greater risk factors that women should take into account before adding the stress of worrying about their height.

And, no I am not tall either

The article I saw said taller people, so it applies to both genders.

That makes sense. Taller people are closer to the sun, so they get more radiation. smile.gif
