Jatuporn's lawyer submits more evidences to EC subcommittee

The lawyer of Jatuporn Promphan Monday submitted more evidences to a subcommittee of the Election Commission to prove that he is a member of the Pheu Thai Party.

The EC has so far declined to endorse Jatuporn as a party-list MP following a complaint that Jatuporn might have lost his party membership and thus being ineligible to contest the July 3 election.

The lawyer, Winyat Chartmontree, submitted more evidences to the subcommittee.

An evidence is a copy of the Pheu Thai's party regulations that did not say being jailed would cause a person to lose party membership.

The second evidence is a copy of bail application submitted to the Criminal Court.

The lawyer also submitted an explanation why Jatupor could not exercise his voting rite.

The lawyer also noted to the EC that Article 40 and 45 of the MPs and Senators Election Act state that the EC could no longer consider the qualifications of election candidates after the election day.
