THE SIGNIFICANCE OF TEACHING PROFESSION

Deputy director-general of the Education Council Dr. Siriporn Boonyanan (ดร.สิริพร บุญญานันต์) expressed confidence that the first general assembly on education in Thailand, held on the occasion of World's Teacher's day, will raise public awareness regarding the significance of teaching professions.

Deputy director-general Dr. Siriporn said that the first general assembly on education will be held during November 1st-3rd, 2005, at the Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani (เมืองทองธานี). She said that the assembly is organized to commemorate the 50th birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (มหาจักรีสิรินธร). The event will feature many activities, including seminars on the main stage as well as small conferences on education reforms.

The Deputy director-general expressed confidence that the event will help promote public awareness regarding the significance of teaching profession and will encourage the public to participate in educational reforms.
