I am wondering what is the likelyhood of getting visit visa for me to visit my husband who lives In uk.

He is at the moment unemplyed and Have no saving but have enought money to buy me a return ticket to Uk and

to spend on me while I am staying with him.

He has a 1 bedroom place In uk for me to stay with him and I am going to spend 2 week with him in UK only.

Do I have any realistic chane of getting a visit visa and I have a job in bangkok and certainly will come back to Thailand to my job.

You need to show that:

  1. You are a genuine visitor with a genuine reason to visit
  2. You will have somewhere to stay in the UK and the money to pay for the visit.
  3. You will leave the UK when, or before, your visa expires.

From what you have said, you have somewhere to stay and your husband has enough money to pay for the visit., but he will have to provide evidence that he has the money to do so. That will satisfy 2.

You may have problems with 1. and 3.

Your husband lives in the UK, you live in Thailand. So you have a reason to visit the UK.

But, you also have a reason to stay in the UK and not return to Thailand!

From what you say it is possible that a settlement application from you would fail because your husband is unemployed and so does not have enough money to support you without claiming any extra money from public funds; which is not allowed.

Therefore the Entry Clearance Officer may suspect that you are attempting to gain entry to the UK as a visitor and once there you will stay with your husband and not return home. You need to produce convincing evidence that this is not so.

A job is good, but on it's own I don't think it will be good enough. You need to show other reasons why you do not, at this time, want to live in the UK with your husband.

Thank you 7by7 for your kind help and

regarding My return to Thailand:

we are going to say that we do not want to affect out future settlement visa so wI will defenitly return to Thailand

as I am planning to apply for settlemtn once husband have a job.

and regarding a genuine reason to visit UK:

we are going to put That Iam visistin UK to see the life In UK and spend time with my husband.

Are those answers enough for the ECO to feel satisfied with my application??

Thanks again

At the end of the day they will want to see your husband can maintain & accommodate you without recourse to public funds. They will want to see his bank statements over a reasonable amount of time generally that is 6 months.

It does have the right of appeal at the moment should they decline the visa.

Wefoo, no one here can say for sure whether you will get your visa or not; all we can do is give you advice on how to present your application.

Regarding your Reason to Return:-

Explaining why you want to visit the UK; good

Explaining why you are not yet applying for settlement; good.

Saying that you will be when your husband is working and able to support you; good.

Having a job in Thailand and providing a letter from your employer confirming this, how much holiday they are giving you and that your job will be there for you when you come back; good.

Anything else you can think of to show that you will return to Thailand after the visit; good.

As you are married,it is important to apply for a "Family visit visa" and you have to specify this when applying. This is because, unlike a tourist or visit visa, this category of application carries a right of appeal if the visa is refused

Hi,

myself and my wife are in a similar situation.

I live in London and she lives in Thailand. We have successfully applied for a Family Visit Visa. We submitted the application on the 17th of August this year and it was approved on the 19th.

In the application, I submitted a covering letter. In this letter I explained why we were not applying for any kind of settlement visa. My wife is happy in Thailand and does not want to live in the UK, it is my intention to settle in Thailand with her.

I used the heading why a family visit visa;

and directly addressed the possible concerns the ECO may have had.

Your husband will have to show evidence of everything relevant to the application. Money, as has been said, will have to be bank statements from the last 6 months, online statements are fine, but he will need to get the bank to stamp them (they will do that, no problem). You will need to show that there is enough money for the ticket and your stay in the UK, this can be done from your money or his, or both. You should also show your bank account statements or a printout of your passbook.

Accommodation.

It's not enough that your husband says there's adequate accommodation for your visit, he will need to show evidence of that fact. A tenancy agreement and some photos of the house/apartment. If it's a private tenancy, a letter from the landlord giving permission for you to stay there during your visit.

Reason to return.

My wife does not have a job, she stays at home taking care of her children and our house. Again, I addressed this directly saying that this would be the first of many applications, my wife would like to visit me again in the future, and whilst we did not want to settle in the UK now, we might do in the future, so we will not jeopardise any future applications by breaching the terms of the first one.

In your case, you will need to have evidence of your employment, a letter from your company giving you leave of absence for the dates you want to come to the UK, and that your job will still be there for you when you get back. On company headed paper, signed and with contact details of the person writing the letter.

If that person does not speak English, then they should write the letter in Thai and you can get a translation done. Do NOT write an English version for them and get them to sign it! The embassy will contact them and ask them about the letter, if it's in English, they will expect the person to speak English! If it's in Thai, they will speak to them in Thai.

Evidence

The ECO will only have the paperwork in front of them to make a decision, everything you say in the application needs to have evidence to back it up.

If you have all the evidence, there's no reason why you should be refused. A Family Visit Visa has the right of appeal, but if you supply all the evidence, you will be successful.

Good luck! :)
