Visa Run From Bkk For Extra 15 Days - Fastest & Easiest Way?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Have a flight out of Thailand coming up soon but looks like im just gonna be falling short on my visa as had a visa waiver stamp 30 days stamped in on Arrival (British passport).

I know you can do a boarder run and get an extra 15 days which would be great and tide me over long enough until I do actually leave, but my question is where is the closest or fastest way to do this from Bangkok?...i heard you can do it from the Burma boarder however thats quite a trek from BKK..Would Laos or Cambodia be quicker?

Also something important is that I dont have any free 'Full' pages in my passport so I would need to be 100% sure that the country that im doing the boarder run to would just give me a small stamp in my passport and not a full page visa sticker.

Also before I forget to mention would prefer to do it this weekend and get it over with would the suggessted boarder run be able to be done at the weekend?

Thanks for all who advise in advance!

Cheers!

You van use Cambodia e-visa for the major crossings with Cambodia - saves a passport page just print out the visa received by email and you get a stamp in passport

Aranyaprathet/PoiPet is likely easiest for you

I have used their e-visa 3x, 24hr response time, even on weekend.

Thanks Atmos!

didn't actually know about this and you have used it multiple times with no problem? and its def not a big sticker?

I take it the Poipet boarder is open 24 hours 7 days a week?..

Thanks again!

Used once at the land crossing, twice when flying; never a problem for me.

Good time-saver (and page-saver) when flying to PP, don't understand why more people don't use it.

Can't use it at our nearest land crossing so I got another full-page visa sticker when I crossed to activate second Tourist Visa two weeks ago.

As for opening times - only been daytime, other people have recommended early morning is best - before 11am when the buses of gambler headed for the casino arrive.

One thing i remember from waiting to come back thru immigration at PoiPet, big screen tv, volume up high, showing Britney Spears in concert, just seemed odd to me.

Here is the info that comes with your e-visa (attached a sample of what they send you)

1. Please check all the information on your e-Visa certificate to make sure they are correct.

Contact us at http://www.mfaic.gov...sa/enquiry.aspx if there is any error.

2. You will see the label of "Cambodia E-VISA" in your credit card statement for this transaction.

3. Your e-Visa is only valid for one(1) entry.

4. No sticker will be issued to you for e-Visa. Please print out 2 copies of this e-Visa certificate. Pass one(1) copy to immigration as your Travel Visa at entry and one(1) copy upon departure. For your convenience, you may cut your printed e-Visa and staple to your passport.

5. e-Visa printout in black and white is acceptable.

6. All your information will be checked on arrival at the Immigration Online System.

7. At the checkpoint, please go directly to the e-Visa immigration counter for

processing.

Look for e-Visa signboard. If you are not sure, please approach the officer for instructions to avoid unnecessary delay.

For Siem Reap Airport, please go to any counter from 02 - 08.

For Phnom Penh Airport, please go to any counter from 03 - 09.

8. You are required to fill out departure and arrival cards at the entry and exit point.

9. Entry to invalid e-Visa ports is prohibited.

10. e-Visa fee is non-refundable.

11. If you would like to change any travelling information (eg: entry date, entry port and etc), please visit the "Check and Change" at http://www.mfaic.gov...visa/track.aspx
