Schengen Visa To France

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My husband, who is British, is planning to apply for a Schengen visa to France for me to spend 2 days there together.

My question is do I need to get travel insurace ? is travel insurance a requirement for getting Schengen visa for spouse of UK national?

Thank you in advance :jap:

I think it is a requirement because, as I recall, you are only a visitor to The UK, so could not benefit from any reciprocal arangements.

In any case I would not want to visit France without medical insurance, or The UK for that matter if you are only a visitor, travel insurance is pretty cheap and will give you peace of mind.

Definitely a requirement for Schengen.

AXA Schengen visa insurance is the one we recommend.

Here is another site which may offer it My link -Mondial travel insurance.

Regards Paul

There is an insurance policy available where the visa is processed, surprise, surprise but it is expensive. Some policies are available that cover a limited number of days travel and can be very cheap!

The visa will not be issued without travel insurance. If a Schengen visa is required then so is insurance!

Yes you need insurance with you're application, I think this will soon become a criteria for UK visit visa applications.
