Some Things I Think Thailand Need To Change On

Hi, there are some things that I think Thailand needs to change. Here are they:

- raise a new social security structure. This includes welfare, social care and other stuff. Everything includes like free medicines and just everything.

- raise taxes, but this is going to be tough to do

- invest in school, hospitals, security and infrastructure

- stimulate young talent

- stimulate university research & developers

- make the southern province independable, unless its really important for the economy

- combine forces with other countries in southeast asia to battle against the baddies like China and EU (ignore this point if partnership with either one is realised, see below)

- get young fresh talent out of different countries to raise the competition of universitities and thus make the level higher.

- get fresh talent either outside of Thailand or inside to help build up the countries infrastructure and economy

- have a good partnership with China or EU

- persuade wellknown companies to come and invest in Thailand

- have a good clear policy on everything. Adjust and modernise laws and rules

- promote Thailand as a superforce in the world. Be strong and stand your ground

And here is where it might hurt some members on thaivisa:

- close borders more

- screen everyone really good in order to prevent criminals coming to country

- thai/foreigner couples with income less then x amount of baht per year are not allowed to come and settle. Foreigner will not get visa or anything

- Legalize prostitution (in certain areas) but tax them heavily

- Legalize soft drugs but heavy taxes

- Heavy taxes petrol, alcohol, sigars and unhealthy food

- take care of child porn! come on man!

What does this mean? Why is China and the EU baddies? What do you mean by combine forces as well as to battle? I don't think Thailand's neighbors have militaries that can take on China, or the EU.

Well now that we've had our lecture from the professor at the UN (University of Naievity) let's correct a few points;

Taxing things heavily that are difficult to monitor in the first place will only drive them more underground, and spur black markets.

Giving the south independance would be caving in to a few terrorists when the general population of the region isn't asking for such things.

The last thing they need is welfare. Maybe better support for the elderly and disabled, but other than that give them jobs picking up litter, fixing sidewalks and neutering soi dogs (and tailors) so they slowly become less of a nuisance. This will make an impact on tourism and health.

Trade with everybody. Don't limit your markets by choosing sides when you don't have to.

Promoting yourself as a superforce when you aren't, only invites someone who is to take you down a peg. Don't make a target of yourself.

Encouraging investment means stop making people jump through so many hoops in order to do business in the country. Free up the restrictions, and let forgieners own title to basic personal property (House, or small business).

Fire people in the civil service who are incompetant or corrupt. Eliminate "inactive posts".

Ok thanks for pointing that out. Well I think taxing certain things that are unhealthy for the population and will hinder economic grow. Taxing softdrugs/prostitution to discourage people. I dont believe theres any problems with the blackmarket, because these things are legal products anyway. Why risk punishment when you pay a few $ more to have it legal?

Otherwise to solve the problem in the south is to talk with malay. Threaten to boycot them. Rule with iron fist in the south.

Nice point you have there in the 3rd alinea. I agree. But welfare to make it a more social and democratic country. To be taken seriously with the other powerhouses like UK, USA, China, EU and for economic reasons. Have very strict rules though and many controls so it wont be abused.

Also the thai economy should be linked to the chinese one. And I mean they should for an (SE) Asian Union. To compete and with the other superforces. They should do the opposite of devaluating the baht. I think they can just do that right

I think Taksi kins should give each person living in LOS *thai AND Farang and everyone else* one million baht a month, so we can all get more drunk, or buy a second computer and be on tv.com twice as much, or get helicopters and fly around tall buidlings in BKK and and and and and... All islands should be returned to their natural state before toursim explosions hit, with just minor eco lodges hidden in the treelines, and I think all the dams in Kanchanaburi province should be fixed properly, or even better, all brought down in controlled circumstances thereby eventually returning to landscapes to their original state, and I think that the japanese should press rewind and unkill all the POW's who died in LOS, and I think that ... Alright I'll stop... The other guy didn't.

Correct me if I am wrong...but it seems to me that you want to bring some European politics to Thailand?

Well I have not been in Thailand long enough as to say what should be change or what should not be change...

But some of the things that you propose are the things that I will change in my country because I do not agree with them...

Also I think us, Europeans and maybe north Americans, like to go to other countries and tell them how it has to be ruled...

I think the interaction among different cultures is a good thing because we can learn many things from each other and then we can make the world a better place to live...

I do not know where are you from but tell what will your change in your country...?

Good God, you ask alot of government! Just about ALL of these could best be accomplished if you divorced people from the idea that government should take care of everything! Most of these could best be accomplished by individuals taking personal responsibility and private enterprise.
