363885
I heard that the Thai government is considering offering free tourist visas to those who require one (such as Chinese, others) in order to attract more tourists in light of the flood. Any words on progress, and when that might be effective?
ALFREDO
TIT-This is Thailand unpredictable If such a solution comes, it comes possibly so fast that even the Consualrsections are completely surprised.
wayned
They're still making people pay their overstay fines to get home and now you want to get in for free?
lazygourmet
Sorry to say, but those who cannot afford one thousand baht for a tourist visa should not visit Thailand. Regarding the overstay fines amnesty, I spoke yesterday afternoon -on the phone- to the head of Nonthaburi immigration. An official proposal has been done -already three weeks ago- by all the heads of province flooded immigration offices. This document is still waiting for the PM approval.
