camerata
This is a very good DVD box set about the history of Buddhism, made by a Thai production company over a period of six years. It's a four-disk set (three episodes per disk) in Thai language with English subtitles. The English title on the menu page is "Buddhism in India - the Rise and Fall." Basically, it's the history of Buddhism in India, taking into account the social, political and religious trends that influenced it. A good one to watch with the wife or SO. The Thai title is, "Taam roy phra phoota jao." Edited November 20, 2005 by camerata
camerata
Unfortunately, the production of the DVD was screwed up and there are three places where the picture freezes and you have to skip forward and then slow rewind to get past the problem. A friend who returned his set twice still hasn't got a glitch-free copy, so he used DVD Shrink to convert the DVD9 disks to DVD5 format and this converted set plays perfectly. Sorry, I don't know any site online that sells Thai CDs and DVDs. There probably are some, but I think they'd be Thai-language sites.
