webfact
Wanted Red-shirt Leader Reports to Police A red-shirt key figure reports to investigators for alleged violation of the security law in response to his leading role in the group's occupation of Ratchaprasong Intersection during its anti-government rally last year. Red-shirt leader Suporn Atthawong along with his lawyer today met investigators of Lumpini Police Station in response to a summons for his alleged violation of the Internal Security Act or ISA invoked by the now-defunct Center for Administration of Peace and Order or CAPO on April 3, 2010. Investigators said Suporn led red-shirt protesters to relocate from Ratchdamnoen Avenue to Ratchaprasong Intersection after it was declared a no-entry zone by CAPO during the group's protest against the Democrat-led coalition. Suporn stated he will use the issue of unconstitutionality of the ISA for his fight against the charge. He admitted he fled to a neighboring country after the protest came to an end and he has kept in constant contact with another fugitive red-shirt core element Arisman Pongreongrong. Suporn claimed Arisman is ready to turn himself in but he is still worried about his safety. Meanwhile, deputy chief of the Metropolitan Police Division 5, Police Colonel Sukhun Prommayon, said investigators have issued three summons for Arisman but he has failed to show up so they will now seek an arrest warrant for him before the end of this year. -- Tan Network 2011-11-
yoshiwara
Almost amusing that Arisman is concerned about his safety. He didn't seem too concerned about others' safety when he was urging the reds to burn down Bangkok.
whybother
Now that CAPO is defunct, it means the ISA is also defunct, so he didn't actually break the law.

He has a whole slew of charges against him, perhaps he might actually not be bailed. We'll see... . Edited November 23, 2011 by Buchholz

He didn't seem too concerned about others' safety when he was urging the reds to burn down Bangkok. Especially the sick , infirm and elderly in the hospital the red Shirts invaded and then terrorized both patients and staff. What a heroic action !!!!! I'd go for mercenary parasite. The question is "If a fugitive flies the coop for 17 months, but then returns, is he a flight risk?" Too hard for the CoP, he is waiting advice from Dubai Korea. Buchholz
Red-shirt leader Suporn surrenders Red-shirt leader Suporn Atthawong gave himself up at the Lumpini police station yesterday in order to hear the charges of violating the Internal Security Act in connection with last year's unrest. Suporn, accompanied by lawyer Suchaiwut Chaosuangluy, was granted temporary release after his surrender. He said that he had been charged unfairly and that he did not break any laws by participating in a peaceful rally. When asked if fellow red-shirt leader Arisman Pongruangrong would turn himself in, Suporn said he only knew that Arisman was worried about his safety. -- The Nation 2011-11-

Anyway, Issan Rambo is free to roam the streets of Thailand once again, which is the more important aspect. . thaihome
There is some evidence that Arisman, next to Seh Daeng, was likely the UDD leader closest to the armed elements associated with the UDD and knew who organized them. Seh Daeng’s shooting could easily be taken as a warning to anyone that knows who was involved in organizing that armed element to keep their mouths shut. If I was Arisman, I would be very worried. The last thing some people want to see is him testifying in court. TH
