Mario2008
A small reminder that coming Monday the Thai government will be closed in honor of His Majesty the King's birthday, this includes of course all immigration offices. Thai Embassies and consulates will also be closed, as will foreign embassies and consulates located in Thailand. Immigration policy is that people who's permission to stay ends on a day that immigration is closed will not be fined for overstay, provided they apply for an extension of stay the first day that immigration is open again. Best is to apply a little bit early for an extension. An extension of stay always starts when the current permission to stay ends, so by going early you don't lose any days. lopburi3
However any border immigration office will normally be closed for business - only normal border crossing/airport functions will be available on a holiday or weekend - not extensions of stay, 90 day reports, and such.
