Non O In Penang

Featured Replies

Hi there, has anyone any experience of getting a non immgrant 'o' visa out of Penang recently and do you get a 1 year?

Also, is it possible to get this visa without leaving the country?

If it makes a difference, I am currently on a 30 day on entry stamp after being refused a visa elsewhere.

I have the following documents now which should make everything OK, but after the last time I like to double check

Dependent Visa (Dependent of spouse or parent possessing Thai nationality)

1. Visa application form duly filled out.

2. Applicant passport valid not less than 6 months. The validity of 18 months is

required for one-year visa application.

3. Copy of passport.

4. (4x6cm.) Photograph(s) of the applicant, taken within the past 6 months.

5. Original and copy of official marriage certificate (For spouse).

6. Original and copy of official birth certificate (For children).

7. Copy of Thai identity card (of spouse or parent).

8. Copy of Thai House registration (of spouse or parent).

9. Bank Statement with a minimum deposit of 100,000 Bath

It appears you have the requirements for issue of a multi entry non immigrant O visa from Kuala Lumpur and I would suggest you go there or Savannakhet in Laos to be more sure of issue. Not many recent reports on Penang and suspect single entry might be more common there.

Decided against Penang and went with Herbert to Kota Baru, 1 year non-o in 1 day.

As far as I could gather everyone got the visas they wanted.
