One member of Pattaya necklace snatch gang caught by Banglamung Police

PATTAYA: -- A man, thought to be part of a gang responsible for many necklace snatches around Pattaya, has been arrested by Banglamung Police. Police Colonel Somnook, the Chief of Banglamung Police announced the arrest of Khun Suriyan aged 25 on Friday afternoon and the seizure of a 75,000 Baht gold necklace and Buddhist Amulet which were found at his house following a search by Police. Also at the press conference was the alleged victim of the crime, Khun Chaiwat aged 43 who confirmed the identity of the suspect and the identity of three others in the gang who are currently being sought by Police. The arrested suspect is believed to have snatched the necklace from the victim while he was using an ATM located at the front of the Mini Siam Tourist Attraction located on the Sukhumvit Road in North Pattaya. The victim is believed to have given chase in his car and caused the fleeing suspect to fall from his motorbike as three other gang members looked on and then assisted Khun Suriyan to escape.
