As you say 'quid' that makes me think that you are asking about a UK application.

Please confirm.

If so, then it is regular outgoings that should be put; rent/mortgage, electric, food, etc.

Yes it is a UK application,

Do you really have to put a figure on food etc?? it is such a variable cost.

Some months you may spend more on food, petrol and similar than others; just as you will spend more on gas and/or electricity in the winter than in the summer. You don't have to break it down into an accurate analysis; just put an estimate of your regular monthly outgoings.

Topic title amended to include UK.

I can't remember it asking for that much detail for the sponsor on the online form. I can only remember it asking for a breakdown for the applicant??

Anyway, in my wife's supporting documents folder I included a section "Sponsors Financial Status" and in the overview I provided a breakdown chart showing my monthly salary after tax, then listed my "essential monthly commitments". This only included my direct debits & standing orders eg mortgage, personal loan, gas & electric, water, council tax, house insurance etc. I did not include variables like petrol, food etc. At the bottom of the chart I highlighted the balance after essential deductions, showing a sufficient amount over the guideline requirement
