Step Daughter Visitor Visa Uk

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I know there are a couple of topics running atm about step children settling in the uk but I was wondering if anyone had any information about step children coming for a two week holiday? The wife will be applying for a family visitor visa which seems straight forward but can someone provide me a link that explains the process so her daughter can travel with her? I am a little confused. would i just apply for two family visitor visas (one for each) or by the looks of it it it; one family visitor visa for the missus and one accompanying childs visa for her daughter?

The ukba website isn't particularly useful/clear when it comes to dependants. so i am hoping one of you guys can let me know where to start.

Thanks

Filled out most of the documents now and was wondering if anyone had any experience with the custody side of step children? Its starting to bug me.

Would it be enough to show receipts from the TW paying for school, prove that the little one lives with her mother through address on passport/ID card. The TW was never married to her previous partner and her daughter shares her family name. He rarely has any input into his daughter (nothing good).

I would have thought all of these things would make it pretty obvious to whom it concerns that she calls all the shots but it isn't an official piece of paper. Short of getting a court order or spending a fortune what can I do to concretely prove she has sole custody? Or do I simply not need to go to this depth for a two week family visitor visa?

Any previous knowledge appreciated, clearly this isn't a one fits all answer.

Custody should not really be an issue for a visit application. It will be if they decide to apply for settlement, but then sole responsibility is more important than sole custody.

She should be able to obtain a custody document from her local ampur( Kor Por 4 I think); certainly if the father is around and willing to go with her, possibly if his whereabouts are unknown.

Thanks, i knew it would be an issue but didn't know the the importance. As I read more it did seem to suggest that it wasn't an issue in a visit situation as you suggest. does anyone else feel that they just end up chasing their tail on the border agency website. There just doesn't seem to be any clear definite answers. I know everyones situations are different but for years i have seen the same questions asked. Moan over.

Thanks again
