Flying To Burma From Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hoping to go from Chiang Mai to Mandalay ideally, but if not then direct to Rangoon. Anyone know what flight routes are available, and/or any travel agents recommended? Thanks.

Don't really know about that but Burma has a travel office on Changklan on the west side of the road between Pantip and The Empress I think it is close to the Shangrala.

Try PNP travel on Thapae Road. About half way down, on the right hand side, near the temple I think. Air Bagan were flying to Rangoon. Not sure if they still are now.

Sorry, wrong name....

Here are the correct details.

If you need a reliable TA inside Burma, I'd recommend Asian Trails. PM me if you would like my contact's personal email address.

Just a tip. If you fly out of Burma make sure your denominations = $10 departure tax, are squeaky clean, crisp and new. I mean not even a creased corner or creased centre fold and definitely no writing. Even if it's your very last $10, if any of the bills, has the slightest flaw on it they will not accept it, no matter how much you cry, kick and scream.

re .. 166/12, Changklan Road,

Air Mandalay seems to fly too CNX - RGN and unlike AIR BAGAN is not directly owned by the dictator's son-in-law TAY ZA , who virtually owns the entire country nowadays
