Reasons I didn't tip this week
So in Pattaya 5 days now. I have compiled statistics on how much & why I'm tipping and why I'm not . I very rarely tip and if I do it's 20 B I just don't tip for "the sake of it " This morning I hit a bar in Jomtien beach which had a certain theme of a country which will be nameless as I come from that country Disinterested waitresses ,no butter on the toast , loud shouting to each other , playing Thai music , I'm expected to do a hunt around myself for salt & pepper and I'm expected to tip ! The second one I noted and I did write a full page report in my diary was a cafe where the screaming ladyboy waiter gave me 100 B notes as change and ASKED for a tip,so that means I need to give him 100b , As the Scots say "Not this little black duck " And I will continue to write reports and statistics in my diary and analysis of information to use for future trips I also used a Bolt service wonderful they sent a taxi from Jomtien beach to Pattaya 80b a taxi turns up During the trip he complains that 10 years ago he could ask for 300b for the same trip now only he gets less than 80 Tipping because you must Please don't get me started on the cultural revolution it's not necessary I -

British National Killed in Sattahip Motorcycle Accident
For starters - look at the second picture. That is not a u-turn. That is the overpass that starts at the Boonthavorn shop (heading south towards Sattahip), about 3 kms before you get to the Highway 332 intersection. I just came back that way last night in fact, going the other way. (Just after the rain in Pattaya stopped and the flooding went down.) It appears that the one of the riders probably took the overpass lane and the other rider didn't realize it in time and tried to cut from the "old road" onto the overpass lane while speeding along and misjudged it, hitting the sign that points to the different lanes. This is the exact same overpass but heading North. Google's image of the North lanes is dated June 2024 but their image of the South lanes (the Boonthavorn side of the overpass where the accident happened) is dated Oct 2023 when construction was still ongoing. Both ends of the overpass are virtually identical though. Maybe they call it a "u-turn" as there is a u-turn under the middle of the overpass. -

Who said bars wernt making money?
Billabong sure sold a ton of beers this past sat night with every seat full and tables covered with beer bottles...seemed to be more gals than usual and lots of guys drinking the two beer minimum deal and buying even more for gals. It was a good night of revenue for sure. -
