Free Uk Passport For Over 80 Year Olds

I read somewher that UK passports are issued free to those over 80 . Is this true?

It is not possible to download an application form for one of these passports. You need Form SE04. The form is numbered, and issued to an individual. If you require one, then contact the British Embassy or consulate, give your name, and they will obtain one for you. Once the form is completed, make a copy of each page of your passport. Take the form, original passport and copy passport to the Embassy or consulate. They will check the copy against the original passport, and return the original to you. The application is then sent, by the Embassy or consulate, to the UK. There is no cost for the passport, or the postage, to the applicant.
