Illegal Drug Production Factories shut down by Pattaya Police

PATTAYA:-- Two illegal drug production facilities have been uncovered by Banglamung Police.

Following a lengthy investigation into claims that two luxury houses in North Pattaya and Banglamung were being used as drug factories, simultaneous raids of both houses took place, one at the Regents Village in Soi 16 off the Naklua Road and the other in Soi Nongsadaow in Banglamung. Police Lieutenant General Panya, Region 2 Police Commissioner came to oversee the results of the raid and was told by Police Colonel Somnook, the Banglamung Police Chief, that items including commercial cookers and grinders and chemicals used to produce Yabba tablets were seized.

Although two men were arrested as a result of the raids, the main ringleader was named as Khun Poy aged 39 who currently remains at large. Khun Apisit aged 19 and Khun Bandit aged 24 claim they were responsible for renting houses to ensure the factories could be relocated on a regular basis to avoid detection by Police.
