Rimmer Posted April 6, 2012 Share Posted April 6, 2012 Pattaya goes to war against mosquitoes PATTAYA:--Pattaya has declared war on mosquitoes, sending workers armed with insecticide around the city daily to combat dengue fever and malaria. Twelve workers from the Center or Disease Control and Prevention are targeting high-risk areas and educating home and business owners on ways to reduce mosquito populations, such as removing any standing water from their property. Workers on March 22 sprayed the area between Walking Street and Bali Hai Pier and are responding to requests for other areas. LennyW Posted April 7, 2012 Share Posted April 7, 2012 They do this every month in Huay Yai, give them a shout when they are passing (you can hear them coming) and they will do your garden too. Regular public events at the local schools/temples too for free pet vaccinations etc. where they hand out free mozzie repellent bags of "sand", looks like teabags?? just chuck them in your fish bowls etc. no mozzie larve. Success, Sahas added, “also depends on residents to lend a helping hand in investigating their own homes for sources of mosquitoes because residents cannot rely on the public sector alone due to the low number of personnel.” Do we need a Work Permit for this?
