Phetchabun To Nakhorn Ratchasima (Korat).........

Depends a bit on which area of Korat Province you're headed to.

Looks line you're at Nong Boua so if headed to downtown Korat, then as Cougar described, east to Hwy 21, south to probably Chai Badan, then left on to Hwy 205 and on around the circle to Korat. 205 enters Korat from the north a bit there at Johor.

It'd be a bit different routing if you were headed to Pak Chong, for example.

Unfortunately, not much in the way of west to east roads in the area. I like to wander a bit so I'd probably take a slightly different routing after Chai Badan.

Highway #21 south about 200 Kilos to the sign to go to Nakhorn Ratchasima turn a left and about 100 kilo's you will be there. Just follow the signs which are in English and you won't go wrong.

Thanx. So, it looks like you're recommending I take route 21 to route 2.(?)

Thanx, too.

I'm headed to the area in Korat on Friendship Hwy a few km west of Big C and the central plaza.

I would like the quickest route with the best roads.

Do you know if route 205 is a good highway-like road?

Most of Hwy 21 is 2-lane heading south, somewhere after Chai Badan it does become 4-lane, and runs on down to Saraburi where it joins up with Hwy 2, heading back up to Korat.

Hwy 205 is mostly 2-lane but relatively fast moving, just be careful, as normal in upcountry Thailand. I don't much like it, tho, because it makes that kind of large loop before heading down to Korat from the north side of town.

Load up: google maps english

Then do a search for: chai badan

From there you can view some of the options.

Since I kind of like the byways, I'd turn left on 205 for a few km, then south another few to join up with 2256, also a 2-laner, head east until Dan Khun Thot, then south on 201 to join Hwy 2 at Sikieu.

It is going to be between the first and last options.....
