Sister-In-Law Visit To The Uk

Recommended Posts

  • 3 weeks later...

You have to apply in your country of residence. From her nic, and her other posts, I would guess that thaigirllondon lives in London and if so she would have applied in London. If your sister-in-law lives in Thailand then she will need to apply in Bangkok.

BTW, glad she got her UK visa, and apols for not replying to your questions about that!

I pm'd thaigirllondon and she's used the German embassy in Bangkok, Dubai and London.

Pleased we got the visa - only took 7 or 8 working days thumbsup.gif

Might try for a German schengen.

For a schengen I see she need's health/travel insurance to the value of €30,000.

After a quick look I found the BUPA rates. Are they competitive?

That seems silly. Insurance from a multinational insurance company covers all countries, who cares where it is bought from? I will check tonight about where I got insurance when I applied in Bangkok.

Silly, or not, that is the requirement for applying for a Schengen visa in Thailand. The list provided by RAZZELL is up to date.

Hi Razzel

I just checked through all old applications forms and docs (I am a horder rolleyes.gif ) and I submitted, at one time, my company health and security insurance which also covers overseas travel healthcare and security emergencies (because of my past job's nature). It was issued by Zurich insurance. Later I did indeed source insuarance, on another trip, from moneysupermarket but I cannot find that doc.

Seems to go against the advice BUT it was not questioned. I am unsure why perhaps because I am the frequent traveller and a passport only lasts me maybe 2-3 years due to all the stamps.

Strange.
