Anyone Here On Permanent Residency And Working Without Work Permit?

Recommended Posts

I mean not real work with a corporate contract or so.

Doing freelance work, writing and such.

Asking myself, holder of PR, if I should skip the yearly hassle of renewing the Work Permit.

Anyone in the same situation?

Your thoughts?

Actually PR does not provide full rights of a Thai; or anything near it. Only citizenship provides that.

Well I did get caught checking the inventory of a hotel I bought. I was told I needed a work permit, but got one the next day. I did have PR then.

Oh, to add, if you do have PR, then there is no need for a WP, you have the same rights and priveleges as any Thai would.

Totally incorrect, you still need a Work Permit even if you have Permanent Residence.

Only if you go to the next step and acquire Thai Citizenship do you have full rights as a Thai and no need for a Work Permit.
