News_Editor Posted April 24, 2012 Share Posted April 24, 2012 UK police arrest five terror suspects near London 2012-04-24 23:21:28 GMT+7 (ICT) LUTON, ENGLAND (BNO NEWS) -- Five men were arrested in a town near the British capital of London on early Tuesday morning on suspicion they were preparing acts of terrorism, police said. Few details about the case were immediately released.The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS), which is better known as Scotland Yard, said five men between the ages of 21 and 35 were arrested by unarmed officers at separate residential addresses in Luton, a large town about 27 miles (45 kilometers) northwest of London. They were taken to a central London police station."This morning's arrests, at five different houses in the Bury Park area, are part of a pre-planned, intelligence led operation by the Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Command," a spokesperson for Bedfordshire Police said. "At the moment, officers from the Metropolitan Police are carrying out thorough searches of the addresses of the people who have been arrested and this is expected to take a minimum of 24 hours."Other details about the arrests were not immediately released, but police said there is no danger to residents living nearby. At a guess George I would say they are British born but have been brainwashed in a place of worship here ,or have gone to another Country for "suitable indoctrination" ,any way its early days as yet and they are only suspects , we will know more about it in the coming weeks as the news is released to the media. Well there is little information given, except the men were all from the Bury Park area, which was mentioned in the link I provided. But winning the fight against any terrorism is not helped by demonizing an entire section of society. As with NI ultimate success requires a mix of social, economic and political moves within a security environment, but military/police action can never combat terrorism alone. Also as again can be seen in NI a hardcore element is often left after a settlement has been achieved and represent an ongoing threat. Bottom line, no easy answers and a lot of hard graft.
