Where To Do A Border Crossing From Bang Saen.

I have a multi entry Visa. I need to get my new 90 day stamp. Where is the closest evisa border crossing from Bang Saen Chonburi?

Is there any other easy way to do it beside me physically going? I know some Expat Veterans can probably PM me to give me some tips.

No idea which province Bang Sean is, so can't advise you there.

But the only way to do a border run is to do it yourself. Serious problems can arrise if you let other people take your passport to be stamped.

It is a Thai beach on the old route to Pattaya from Bangkok so Cambodia would be the crossing and there is organized trips from both Bangkok and Pattaya (and perhaps from Chonburi for the port workers) in the 2k price range, which is probably easier than trying to do yourself (large part of that fee is the Cambodian visa).

Not sure what crossings are being used (visa trips try to use less busy places sometimes). If someone making trips by car from Pattaya can answer expect that would be the best choice. Expect it will take most of the day.

Best bet from Bang Saen would be the crossing at Aranyaprathet in Sa Kaew.

Directions are correct.

A flight out and back gives you 30 days instead of 15 so that is a plus. Have you checked flight costs to KL on Air Asia. You don't need a visa for Malaysia so that is a savings also.

If you don't want to drive my wife has told me that there is a coach (little half size thing) that goes from Baan Suan, Chonburi City ( I imagine it picks up along Sukumvit ) that goes to one or other Cmabodian border crossing to some market there. I imagine the crossing others have said is the closest.

If you are driving I think there is one near Trat and while you are down there you could spend some time on Koh Chang and make the journey more worthwhile.

Can you not just get an extension of stay at Sri Racha immigration office ?

It's in Chonburi,the first beach down from Bangkok that Bangkok people descend on every weekend and cover it with their litter.

Agree - have not been there for over 30 years but even then it was dirty and full of jellyfish regardless of any Bangkok visitors (there were none during the week).

If yes:

I'm in the same situation and just made a visa run. The physically fastest way from Bang Saen is the land border at Pong Nam Ron, close to Chantaburi. Since there is nothing special to see on the trip, except you intend to stay at Ban Phe's / Rayong's beaches for a night, I recommend to use a visa run company from Pattaya.

For 1.8 kTHB they picked me up in Pattaya at 6:30 am, short stop close to Klaeng. At the border, I just passed the Thai immigration in person, after that you'll just sit at a coffee shop for some minutes, where you can buy duty free goods. The Cambodian visa fee is included in the 1.8. On the way, they filled out the form already. A motorbike driver was taking all the passports with him and returned after a few minutes with the Cambodian visa inside. Back through the TH-immigration with ready filled out entry cards, they offered free water. On the way back another stop close to Klaeng, where they offered lunch. One free dish, one free drink and actually quite good food (I had duck with noodles and vegetables, just expected a soup or Kao pat before).

Back to Pattaya at 2pm, they drop you, where you want to be dropped.

No hassle at the boarder, a short trip on an air-conditioned minibus. Perfect for me, much better than to drive myself. Just 1800 THB, your passport and 2 pictures required. Since I don't want to make advertisement, for a VR-company, just send an PM, when you are interested, where I booked it.

Forgot to mention ...

When you have a car and want to travel around with some sightseeing, drive to Ban Phe / Hat Mae Ramphueng Beach. Book your VR-trip some days in advance at Pattaya. Stay at Ban Phe over night and they will pick you up there at 7:30 am, a more convenient time. Around 1 pm you will be back and can enjoy another afternoon at the beach, before heading back to Ban Saen.

I asked the company about this matter and yes, they would do it. But sorry, no discount (1.8 kTHB is fix)

Maybe not clear from the OP, but yes, a land-crossing gives 15 days visa-exempt, but 60 days on a tourist-visa or 90 days on a non-immigrant visa.

Flying out and back in, will give you 30 days on a visa exempt. Rest stays same.

I ended up driving to Aranyaprethet. It was 220 km from bang saen. Took about 3.5 hours each way. Nice to road trip it through a new area of Thailand I have never seen. I had an e visa and that was the closest evisa crossing as far as I could see. I don't like the one page being taken up on my passport .

I can't emphasize enough to people who are new to Thailand to read online what to expect at border crossings ! I saw some fellow Americans at the arrival for Cambodia and heard them talking about how someone lied about this or that for the stamp. I carefully took them aside and told them anyone near the border who is 'helping ' you is trying to scam you. Read before you go! there are so many hustlers there because people don't know what to expect when crossing.

I think the evisa is the best option as still I had people trying to tell me I would need an additional 500 baht for a stamp in Cambodia . I said no I don't I paid already . He said up to you lol. It was a non border working hustler. Just politely tell them you don't need help. The borders are where some of the best hustlers are.

I also want to point out that I was on the Cambodia evisa website map getting its location for Aranyaprethet. Their gps location is wrong. I ended up in some little town about 20 clicks away lol.

I have a multi entry B visa. I wish I could just go to si ratcha immigration every 3 months. It is a whole different visa for that though.

Does the visa run from pattaya include the evisa option? I hate wasting a full page just for a border crossing .

Sorry I was going to get back to you after my wife had gone to find out the details about the coach. It doesn't look like she will have the time at the moment now. Mother in law is having a knee replacement today.

I haven't done either myself as I don't need to do border runs after permantly moving here. They are just two options my wife and other people have suggested in the past.

Koh Chang was nice, but I've only been in the rainy season so not seen it to it's full potential.

The VR companies from BKK n Pattaya go to three borders, only Aran/Poi Pet allow evisa.

The other two ,both near Pong Nam Ron( Ban Laem/Daung n Ban Pakkard/Prum) do not accept evisa.

fun in chonburi? only pattaya. everything is done from pattaya. i can recommend first class visa runs, 2500 total luxury bf 6-30,only 6 people in bus comfortable seats, top movies. on return there is a cooked meal waiting for you. return time 2-30 now what is better than that.

This is the crossing used on my visa run.

Ban Laem crossing in Pong Nam Ron, Chanthaburi Province.

I lived in Bang Saen for just 1 year on a Non Imm O visa so had to do the 90 day run.

The best way I found was to spend the previous night in Pattaya, I was picked up at the hotel about 06:30/07:00, the driver checked my passport and pix before we left to make sure all was in order.

If anybody needed passport pix he stopped near Chantaburi so they could get some done.

We had a 10/15 minute 'comfort stop' on the way to the border.

When we got through Thai Imm the driver met us and took our p/ports to some guys sitting at a table just passed the Thai Imm office, then directed us to the casino for a free lunch.

The driver called us all out, took us back to get our p/ports, we went back through Thai Imm, no problems, then back to the bus and Pattaya, with another 'comfort stop' on the way back.

I used to get dropped off at Big C Pattaya south, then get the bus back to Nong Mon market, jump on the songtheow for home.

I was usually back home by 16:00.

As for fun in Bang Saen, talk to some expats, depending on what 'fun' you're looking for, I have heard there are places to go for 'fun'.
