c_bangkok
Hey, I stumble over a couple articles here now and then but have never bothered to post anything. I know the majority in the homosexual crowd here are gay, but if anyone could recommend any good lesbian hangouts, farang or Thai, that'd be much appreciated. To get the ball going, here's one I frequent with a group of toms, that I like a good deal. -"Take Good Care" The food's good I guess (we tend to get just snacks and buy a bottle of something at the Tops down the street). It's not cheap, but not terribly expensive, especially for farang (which there aren't too many of); an appetizer maybe 40-60 baht, a dish maybe 100.It's very clean, and the atmosphere is nice. One of the owning partners (it has several), Tar, there every night, is a tom with a sociable personality who makes rounds and talks to every table. The crowd is almost exclusively lesbian, toms and dees, and theer's indoor and outdoor seating. Starting at about 7 each table gets to sing two songs, and this keeps rotating around. Not a big karyoke fan myself, this is probably the most enjoyable. The restrooms are clean and it's open till 12pm or so. It's located on Thanon Phachacheun (in Lack See(IV)), and, again, it's just a nice clean comfortable place, not oftened by farang but has English menus, etc., and Tar speaks English. cee
Heya, I spent hours searching the internet for up to date listings. When I got frustrated, I made my own site: Lesbian Guide to Bangkok Any help would be appreciated! Take Good Care is listed (been there a couple times now too!) as well as others. Please let me know if there is anything else I can add! /Cee Edited March 16, 2006 by cee

Moude
Fridae mentioned a lesbian sauna!!!!! See this She Relax Corner The first sauna for lesbians in Thailand, possibly the whole of Asia. The restaurant area is open at lunchtime to the general public for buffet lunch. Following which, it closes at 2pm only to re-open between 7pm to midnight strictly for women only on a daily basis. Entrance fee costs some 200 baht (approx US$5). Directions: Take skytrain to Ari station, walk straight ahead for some 15 minutes to Paholyothin Soi 12 and down the 'soi' (lane) for 15 metres. At least, that's what gay men do in their saunas. Anything they wish to do.

pedro01
I live near Lang Suan - there's a really great looking new bar just opened at the end near lumpini park. I was walking past there with my girlfriend the other day & suggested we go in - until I saw the 'ladies only' sign on the door. Looks nice though

triangular
Hi, Im based in Chiang Mai and though its fairly easy to spot individual lesbians or couples out and about - they dont seem to socialise in one place. I went down to Femme Fatale about a month ago - all locked up, nobody in sight .... You got that right. CM is soooo conservative compared to any other place of its size in Thailand. My Thai gf is bi and feels totally alienated as a weirdo in CM, not to mention finding nobody to play with here. We found the Femme Fatale listing online a long time ago and went to check it out. I guess they never had enough business to stay open. If you know of anything in the CM area I'm sure she would appreciate if I could pass it along to her. PeaceBlondie
I am kind of grasping at straws, but at least one of the female tuk tuk drivers in Chiang Mai was gay, and I'll bet that all the female drivers know where lesbians hang out. Ask! You might start out at the cabstand in front of Central Kad Kaew. Or, go inside to Tops, and ask the cute checkout 'boy' who's really a Tom. I kept flirting with her until I realized he was a she!
dukkha
Lesbian wimmen dont tend to have the same social patterns as gay men, and although there are now stricltly lesbian bars in Bangkok, I cannot say the same for Chiengmai, their social grouping patterns are not a reflection of how gay men gather, that is to say in bars exclusively for gay wimmin, they tend to move in different ways and they make contacts very differently from gay men, it is not a geographical or sociological matter, but one where wimmin feel most comfortable, often in their homes or in places that cannot be identified as strictly gay, its a different psyche at work, but you follow where you most feel comfortable...I have a gay woman friend in CM but has never spoken of any particular place where one can seek the same company...
