Uk Resident, Maybe Wanting To Apply For Indian Visa From From Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi,

I bit of an out of the ordinary query here.

I am going to Thailand very soon (for about 8 months stay, with a triple entry tourist visa), and I may like to also spend a bit of time in India, while I am in thailand.

For example, If I stay in thailand for a while, Can I apply for a indian visa (lasting perhaps 2 months) from Thailand? or do I need to apply for that from the UK?

Sorry to ask here, but I cant find any indian visa forums.

Thanks

I am moving this from the forum "Thai visas, residency and work permits" to the forum "Visas and migration to other countries"

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Many countries insist that visa applicants apply in the country where they are resident. The Indian embassy say

Foreign nationals who do not hold resident visas in Thailand are dealt with on a case to case basis.
What does that mean? My guess, and it is only a guess, is that you would need a good reason to apply in Thailand and not to have applied in the UK before leaving.

My advice is to obtain your Indian visa before leaving the UK.

Presumably any foreigner in Thailand with a Thai Non Imm O visa or Yellow Tabian Bahn book can apply for an Indian Visa? Anyone got any experience applying in Bangkok?
