An agency in Pattaya.....( Now thats a way to start a question!)... has said they can obtain a retirement visa for me. No surprise as I know I I fit the requirements...but can I then do my 90 day reporting anywhere I happen to be at the time???..

The agency said I can.....

First of all,,,though it's maybe a matter of sematics...but there is no retirement VISA.

What you get, if you meet the qualifications, is a 1 year EXTENSION of your current non O visa by reason of retirement.

So it is not a retirement VISA it is an extension of your visa for one year.

Now you get that extension from wherever your residing...the immigration office where you live when it is given to you issues you that extension.

So you have to report every 90 days to that immigration office to verify your address.

Having said that, there is a provision for you to fill out a form to notify them of your new address if you move...and then you do your next 90 day reporting at the immigration office that serves your new address.

So it is possible to change your address and thus the immigration office you must report to.

However, you can just about guarentee that if you do this more than a couple of times every year, the immigration is going to be asking you pointed questions about EXACTLY where you really do live before to long.

In short, if you tweak the Tiger's nose....the Tiger may bite....so doing it is a silly thing to do.

Which is probably what you should tell that agency....if they can understand it.

You are aware the process takes about 20 minutes at the immigration office serving your location and the cost is 1,900 baht. All you will need is passport, copy of data page and visa/entry stamps and departure card along with a 4x6cm photo and 1,900 baht for the TM.7 form application. You should have some proof of address and will require the normal proof of 800k in bank account 2 months or 65k per month income or combination. That is it - very easy and fast.

For three years (2008-11) I maintained two residences in Thailand: One in Phuket and one in Bangkok.

My car driver's license had the Bangkok address. My motorcylce driver's license had the Phuket address.

I did my 90-day reports at Immo/Phuket.

I did my annual extensions (retirement) at Immo/Bangkok

Neither office ever questioned me about my dual residence.

I am not aware of any Thai immigration regulation that prohibits dual residence and separate reporting as described above.

Things are different with the new regional immigration office set up and they have become much more strict on who will process paperwork as each province is assigned a specific office. Some office may accept 90 day reporting from elsewhere while some may not.
