monty
Anybody has any experience with them? I have a galaxy gio, standard bat is 1350 mAh. Using juice defender I get decent bat life, but this disables the data connection, apart from a short session every 15 minutes to allow for mail sync. However, I'd like skype to be online all the time to allow incoming calls. Doing this, I run out of battery in about 7 hours (as opposed to over 24 hours using juice defender). I've seen 2450 mAh batteries on ebay, do they really hold that capacity? This would give me around 12 hours, while not brilliant, at least back to usefull as longer then my average away from home time! Shurup
I would think if your standart size batt is 1350, a 2450 from eBay either gonna be thicker (need a new batt cover) or/and not gonna hold as much as they claim. I have an S2 and just ended up shopping for something with more juice, or an alternative. Standart size in S2 is 1650mAh and even 2000 not gonna fit under stock cover. There are however 1800 batts that might fit, or anything up to 3500 mAh that comes with a replacement batt cover. I ended up getting this: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2000mAh-External-Backup-Battery-Charger-Case-For-Samsung-Galaxy-S2-II-i9100-WT?item=130702655627&cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D5%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D9029406589812077447 Don't know how well it gonna work but these battery charger cases were getting good words on internet. It will give me a total of 3650 mAh without making my phone looking weird, they also work as a phone case, which is a bonus. I've looked on a eBay and this sort of case chargers are available for at least these 3 phones: S2, Note, iPhone. Honestly don't know about your Gio, but worth taking a look I think. When I get it, I will report back how well it works.
monty
Yeah, they are the same size, hence my question if they really have that capacity! They do have 1800 mAh in the same size as original , but would really like the endurance of the 2450... Shurup
I doubt it very much, it's either thicker or they're bluffing.
monty
Something like the ones below: 1600 mAh: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-1X-1600mah-BATTERY-FOR-Samsung-Galaxy-Gio-S5660-S5670-Fit-Suit-S5830-Ace-/120853455259?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item1c236d619b 2430 mAh: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GOLD-2430MAH-HIGH-CAPACITY-REPLACEMENT-BATTERY-FOR-SAMSUNG-S5660-GALAXY-GIO-/120803666036?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item1c2075a874 Just thinking the capacity stated is done the same like the stereo's sold here, which seem to be able to pump out thousands of Watts out of tiny little amps/speakers :)
lennois
If it sounds too good to be true it usually is You won't be getting any more (significant) juice out of battery of the same physical size. Generally you'll get less with cheap batts
monty
Unfortunately very true! Just wish I could find a genuine high capacity battery, needing a slightly thicker back cover would be an acceptable trade off for me... lomatopo
It looks like there is an official Samsung battery which will fit your model as is, rated at 1,500 mAh. http://www.amazon.co...ASIN=B0049QCJ2I Samsung EB504465VU BSTD OEM Lithium-Ion Cell Phone Battery (1500 mAh) Mugen, a very reputable supplier of replacement batteries of OEM quality, have a 1,600 mAh battery for this model: http://www.mugen-pow...-gio-s5660.html I would get one of the above and then swap in as needed, keeping one charged at all times. You can find these adjustable pole battery chargers (AC or USB) inexpensively here.
