Crime Forest Department Probes Influencer Police Officer’s Resort for Encroachment
Picture courtesy of Matichon. Authorities have launched a formal investigation into a luxury riverside resort owned by former police officer-turned-social media influencer, Pol. Sgt. Yutthaphon Srisompong, widely known as “Johnny the Enforcer”, for alleged forest land encroachment in the Lam Dom Noi self-reliant community zone. At 10:00 on 22 July, a combined task force led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Watcharin Fusit, commander of the Natural Resources and Environmental Crime Division (NRECD) and Pol. Lt. Gen. Prasong Chalermphan, commander of the Anti-Corruption Division (ACD), along with Forest Department officials, executed a search warrant on the controversial floating resort and pool villa. The resort, located in Khum Khuean Kaew Subdistrict, Sirindhorn District, was found to extend into restricted forest land within the Lam Dom Noi settlement scheme. Authorities reported that part of the land had been illegally occupied without official permission. The Land Development Department had previously issued a written warning in 2022. Initial inspections suggest the property encroaches upon designated forest area within the government-managed settlement. Officials are currently verifying all relevant documentation, including that provided by the accused owner. Pol. Lt. Gen. Jaroonkiat Pankaew, Deputy Commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), confirmed that the case was prompted by public complaints. In response, investigative teams were deployed to examine not only the alleged land encroachment, but also possible irregularities in the officer’s wealth and disciplinary conduct. “The disciplinary investigation is being handled by Pol. Lt. Gen. Watthana Yijeen, commander of Provincial Police Region 3. As for the asset investigation, that falls under the remit of the Anti-Corruption Division,” said Jaroonkiat. In addition to inspecting land use violations, the investigation is also examining the roles of local officials, including village heads, who may have improperly certified construction or land claims. When questioned about the possibility of political motivation or internal police rivalries influencing the complaint, Pol. Lt. Gen. Jaroonkiat firmly denied any bias: “Once a complaint is received, it is our duty as law enforcement to pursue the truth, equally and transparently. The law applies to everyone. No one is above it, influencer or not.” He urged the public and followers of “Johnny the Enforcer” to remain objective, stating that the rule of law exists to protect all citizens and uphold fairness. “The Central Investigation Bureau will proceed with the investigation impartially, and will ensure justice for all parties involved,” he concluded. Colonoscopies and PSA tests are not "limited to age 75". Different countries have different public health recommendations but in no place that I know of, are these tested prohibited past age 75. in the US, Medicare will pay for colonoscopy at any age. That said, the risks of colonoscopy rise after age 75 and that needs to be factored into the decision making process (talking now about colonoscopy purely for screening purposes in asymptomatic people) as does whether or not the patient would be a candidate for surgery if say cancer was detected. -
