Hi guys,

Just putting the finishing touches to my wife's application.

I have a question about some of the documents.

As my wife's sponsor I'm providing originals for my bank statements, employment etc, our children's birth certificates- Thai, and their translation. Do I need to provide copies too??

I'm including third party documents for accommodation which are photocopies. Will this be ok??

We will be submitting under the current rules this week.

Thanks

If you cannot supply original documents it will do no harm to self-certify the copies 'I certify this is a true copy' and sign. A note as to why originals are not available might be advisable.

This should do for many documents but there is always a small risk that the ECO will question them. Clearly mortgage documents and rent books/ agreements are likely to be copies especially if faxed/emailed from the UK.

If the application is sound otherwise common sense should prevail!

Many of the documents are originals, I was wondering if they should be backed up with copies for the ECO to keep.

Yes..

Provide copies of documents so they can return the originals and keep the copies.
