Marsala Wine?

Featured Replies

Has anyone seen cooking grade marsala wine anywhere?

I have to bring mine from the US. I have looked but never seen it here.

"Regular" marsala wine can be found in most better wine cellars, but as with all imported wine, it can be pricey.

I prefer to use good wine in cooking, but in Thailand, I do make use of cooking wine which i buy by the gallon in plastic jugs at Restaurant Depot. It can last quite a long time after being opened due to the added salt, and it is not as good, but it will do. Also, I have never had a problem with bringing it back through Thai customs.

Villa has Marsala for under 500 baht. As wine prices go here thats not a bad price really.

Sadly they seem to have stopped selling the cheap Maderia and I'm not prepared to spend 1,500 baht on cooking wine.
