September 14, 201213 yr I'm on a non-imm O' visa as married to Thai national. I have an British drivers license, is this enough for me to be able to drive in Thailand? or should I apply for an international license? or take a Thai driving test? I heard there is a theory part of the test that is in Thai, so would be difficult for those that don't read Thai . Is this true? Wondering what the best option is for me, license wise. thanks
September 14, 201213 yr Hi, read the pinned topic at the topic of this forum. FYI, the theory test is in Thai and English.
September 15, 201213 yr with your Brit license, and proof of residence, like a letter from immigration or house book, you just walk in and get a Thai license, only a easy Eye test. First one you get is 1 year, then they switch to 5 years after that So easy, just do it

We just did exactly this for my cousin after we put him in my yellow book. Just took a couple of hours at the local DLT for the eye tests.
September 15, 201213 yr Author Wow, brilliant thanks guys, didn't know it would be that simple. btw - what is the yellow book ?
September 15, 201213 yr Don't worry about the Yellow book. If you don't have it, you need a proof of residence letter which you easily can get from immigration. Edit: // The yellow book is the house registration book for Foreigners, and it is (in some districts) not that easy to obtain. (If you wanna know more about this, look in the Thai Visas, Residency and Work permits forum.) Edited September 15, 201213 yr by MJCM
