November 5, 201213 yr Your foreign marriage is valid in Thailand regardless of registering it. The only thing registering the marriage does is make the Thai government aware of it, which makes somethings easier. Like filling your (wifes) taxes, as being married might lead to reductions. If you want an extension of stay from immigration based on your marriage, they now insist that the foreign marriage is also recorded in Thailand.
