New Budget Airline Scandinavia To Bangkok Launches...

Featured Replies

Might be of interest to Scandinavians, doubt if fares will be low enough to make a connecting flight from UK but you can check it out.

"The budget carrier Norwegian Air Shuttle will launch long-haul operations next year with flights to Bangkok and New York from several scandinavian Airports.

Fly from Oslo, Helsinki, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Trondheim or Stockholm to New York City from 999 NOK / 137 Euro / 109 GBP or to Bangkok from 1499 NOK / 204 Euro / 164 GBP – one way incl. taxes with the brand-new 787 Dreamliner – the most modern aircraft in the world!

The fare is available for travel from May to Oktober 2013.

Since Norwegian Air Shuttle is a low-cost carrier, you’ll have to pay for baggage, seat reservation or food on the plane. The price for some services will depend on the length of your journey."

Checked on the price from CPH-BKK-CPH via STO in august.

If you need food, luggage and seat reservation Norwegian is more expensive than Qatar airways.

And Qatar certainly provides much better service than Norwegian.

But maybe it would be cheaper for a oneway trip without luggage checked in.

Yep. Last night when I posted it I couldn't get a fare off the website. Today I put in some sample dates and what savings there were to be had were certainly minimal, if at all.

However your point about the oneway certainly appears to be the case.

Oh well, more choice is always better than no choice smile.png
