Had a piece drop off turbo of old Nissan ! Whoops.

Trouble is don't know the name which makes it a bit difficult to replace.

It's an old Nissan Terrano so might need to find the part on Ebay etc.

Really difficult to search without a name! Anybody know the name of the red circled bit in the picture.

It screws in and somehow worked loose and fell out.

Take picture to Nissan dealer and go to parts desk. They will have a diagram and therefore know what it is.

Thank you for the answers, I think that could be it. I'll try the Nissan dealer too, but its an old Pathfinder so I think

I'm going to have to hit the

spare parts shops and the internet sites.

Thank you!

OK Thai spare parts shops say its called a "blow off valve" Is that the same thing as an EGR???

Looks like they have blow off valves on the net at around $30 upwards.

Thai spare parts shop just quoted around 10k BT blink.png

I think they might want to sell us the whole turbo.

Not an expert but I think if you close it off you can damage the engine, or at least more chance the engine will get damaged.

I seem to remember older diesels having this, does it have 2 small bore pipes going to the injector pump? if so its a Vacumn/pressure vale that advances/retards the timing acording to manifold pressure,

Could be just the actuator...hence why it's still running (I presume with no apparent problem)...if you go to one of the after-market turbo tuning shops they maybe able to rig up another actuator for you
