Illegal Money Lender wanted in connection with fight at North Pattaya market

PATTAYA:--Just before 1.30am on Thursday, Pattaya Police were called to the Pattaya Plaza Market located in North Pattaya at the Dolphin Roundabout to assist a 24 year old Thai man who had been brutally attacked by an illegal money lender.

The injured man is Khun Anuroot aged 24 who sustained facial injuries and a serious head wound caused by a broken bottle. He had also been stabbed in the chest.

There were many witnesses to the attack, mostly market vendors. Khun Dang aged 51 revealed how he knows Khun Anuroot very well and was aware that he had borrowed money from two separate groups of illegal money lenders. One of them, known as Khun On who is based in Soi Kao Ta Lo in East Pattaya had lent the victim 40,000 Baht and as part of the agreement 700 Baht in interest had to be paid every day.
