tempest
I am planning on visiting KL for the New Year and at the same time will obtain 90 day Non-O visa (over 50, not married to Thai) as a temporary measure before returning to UK in April for a new multiple entry Non-O visa. Is the consulate section in KL open 2/3/4 Jan? I can find no information saying otherwise. Also, what documents are required apart from app form, copy passport, photo & fee? Do I need to show a bank book with funds/flight ticket?
rheinwiese
Call them to confirm the opening hours and the docs required If they request the saving book, make copies of each page and bring the original along as well. +603-2148-8222 ext 105/
tempest
Today managed to get through to the consulate. For information they are open on 2/3/4 January, but they advised for the issue of single entry Non-O visa they required a bank book showing 800k+. I asked them if they were talking about an O-A visa. They said no and this had been a requirement for issue of Non-O visa for a long time. This is news to me. As I don't have that level of funds in Thailand I guess I will have to obtain tourist visa and then a 30 day extension to see me through. ubonjoe
Did you make it clear to them that you only wanted a single entry non-o visa. I think they may of been giving the rules for multiple entry.
tempest
Yes, very clear it was single entry visa being requested and the lady I spoke with had a good command of English.
ubonjoe
I think I would go to the embassy and talk to them in person and if it is still no then get a tourist visa. That would get you 90 days by doing a 30 day extension of the 60 day entry you would get.
