Walen Vowel Length Notation

With Walen first you learn the alphabet as we do not use any transliterated Thai at all.

So how do Walen students make a note of irregular and ambiguous spellings? While the system of sattha-akson (สัทอักษร) can deal with most issues, it can't address hidden vowel lengths (short vowel in เงิน, แย่ง-long, แท่ง-short).

dam_n good question. I thought you could write out the full short form, for example เงอน, but that would sometimes make the tone wrong as in this case. One could just annotate it with "สระเสียงยาว" or "สระเสียงสั้น" I suppose, but I'm interested in Mac's answer.
