Thais Getting Visa For Qatar - Visit Then Resident

Featured Replies

Hi All,

After a couple of years living in Saudi Arabia me and the family are likely to be moving to Qatar. I'm UK passport/national & the wife is Thai passport/national.

Qatar is one of those countries that DOES NOT allow Thais to enter without firstly getting a visa unless they are currently residents of another GCC country.

As we are currently Saudi residents then my wife has been allowed to travel to Qatar with me and get a visa on arrival (as a GCC resident).

However when we finally leave Saudi after leaving my job our residents visas will get cancelled and so my wife will lose the ability to come to Qatar without first applying for a visit visa.

..I'm struggling to find any information on the web about how easy or hard it is and how long it takes and what duration of visa we can apply for.

In the longer term I will get a Residents visa for Qatar which allows me to get a Residents visa for my wife but this will take about 6 months to get done.

Anyone have an useful information about Qatar Visas for Thais? Anyone does this before?

Many thanks for any help or advice.

Get your wife a tourist visa for Qatar in Saudi before you leave Saudi. The only sticking point is you say your Qatari residents permit will take six months. Should be much quicker than that.

PM'd you a more detailed explanation.
