Not exactly fitting in with Shaggy's originial intent, but I don't know where else to post this.

If you like lot's of Ducks ... have a look at this in the General Forum.

.

Cheers for that video link David.

Funnily enough I posted the same video clip a couple of days ago in this thread (post #4157).

but the video has now been removed by the user that uploaded it.

Just a farm related , street shot , working for a living style of photo .

A Happy Snap smile.png

SAM_0273.JPG

This has got me thinking ...

My foundation was involved in the Farm Photo Thread , Thank you shaggy 1969 .

However I have become more involved in the Photo threads and now at times there is a Stalemate !

With the introduction of better cameras and PP we now have advantages that we had not had before and I believe that our posted images are becoming , no not becoming. are already more spectacular thumbsup.gif

This is fantastic Folks , but we may be losing our foundation .

I was trivialising with the idea to bring it back to basics with a sort of Happy Snaps Idea , I really have no idea about this .. but I want to ask your opinion openly .

What I see is every Thread has a guide , that be Water Scene , a Tree , a Cloud , a Wat , a Bus , truck etc , is it possible to have a " Happy Snap " Photo thread ?

I am sure there will be a lot of input and some rather compelling images as well !

I am asking this here as this is where I began my foundation with you Folks , and if there are any Mods looking in your opinion would be appreciated .

I am thinking a back to basics for anyone to contribute , of course censored for the viewers giggle.gif

Any Thoughts ?

Sorry , Just thinking out loud , too late to retract now .

Go back into my hole and be confused a bit longer , thanks .

There are some interesting observations in what you were 'thinking out aloud'.

As for an idea for a 'Happy snap' thread ... why not?

Are you thinking in the Farming Forum or, more generally in the Photographic Forum?

Threads are easy to do ... either people take them onboard like we have with this one, or you struggle to get replies to your OP.

Quite honestly I think add photos to the categories we have already.... I think the idea would just die and get lost in the pile ..... but then I have been wrong at least once before! facepalm.gif

Just me thinking out load~ ! tongue.png .....

Try it Goompa, and see what happens and where it goes ! whistling.gif

Fish farming on the Mae Nam Nan in the Amphoe Phichai area of Uttaradit. There are many of these along both sides of the river

stretching for many kilometers in both directions.I wonder how much if any, does this coloured muddy water affect the fish.

Any Thoughts ?

I think that one is definitely more for the photo forum mate.Start it up and see how it develops.

Although there has been many excellent top quality images shared on this thread,I would hope that the emphasis remains

more with content than quality.Personally speaking I appreciate a blurry farm photo taken on and old camera phone just as much

as an awesome landscape image taken with a top notch camera.

Turning rubber slabs into rubber sheets.

The three machines involved.

P1070577.JPG

Machine #1....used for flattening the rubber slabs into a manageable thickness (circa 1/2 inch).

P1070577.JPG

Machine #2.... Mangle. The rubber is passed through the rollers two times forming it into a 1/4 inch thick sheet.

P1070575.JPG

Machine #3 .....Final stage,These rollers are used to reduce the thickness of the sheet even more and to also add a texture to the surface

of the rubber sheet to aid in it's drying process.

P1070576.JPG

Unfortunately whilst I was at this farm I was unable to see this process in action because the the owners of the machines were busy

with preparing the liquid rubber into the setting trays, but here is what the surface of a fully processed rubber sheet looks like.

What I see happening on Farm Photo's is people are developing and things getting a lot more interesting farm-wise and photographic-wise.

@Goompa. We'll never loose our foundation.thumbsup.gif I appreciate your thoughts. My feedback on your observation is I think it's a good thing to be ready to accept change, for anyone.

These chickens are afraid of something. Not me.. Their heads move fast and they're keen observers.smile.png

Okay I'm willing to look the idiot, are they shallots or another member of the onion family?

Okay I'm willing to look the idiot, are they shallots or another member of the onion family?

Brave man.smile.png They are common shallots, indeed.. They really look surprisingly similar to garlic cloves in this growing stage. I think they must be related.

In the end you're brave and I'm the idiot.laugh.png

Yeah they are in the same genus, shallots originated from SE Asia apparently, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shallot with the Thai name of hom (หอม, fragrant)

Mods - pls excuse the Thai script, I thought it was an essential addition, in case the transliteration was screwed up.
