Ron19
Ron, when you care for your planted DragonFruit, do use any specific fertilizer to encourage them to set fruit? Not asking for name brands, just wondering if you use something, or let Mother Nature take it's course. I will have a look tomorrow what fertiliser I am using then let you know.I don't think it is fertiliser that is the problem with producing fruit it is more likely to be lack of pollination which I believe is done by bats, moths and possibly some insects. They will not produce fruit by self pollination so that would mean a number of plants would give a better chance of setting fruit.
shaggy1969
There is a Harvesting Fish Thread yet for me to pen from these photos. Looking forward to Your new thread mate Am curious to know what they us on the farm to weigh the own side of the net they are using in the photo. Is it a linked chain or a braided lead line? I ask this because when I was much younger I used to go poaching fishing on the coast near my home for salmon an sea trout. I still have the urge to go net fishing sometimes and wondered if it is possible to buy braided lead line in Thailand.

shaggy1969
^^ What's the story behind this photo? Nothing much really David. The lady in the background is the best friend of Num's Aunt, the young girl who is planting the rice seedlings is her daughter. Ohhhh, and the dog didn't like me,only encountered two dogs that didn't like me and the are both in the same village. The other one is the dog from the Poo Yai Baan.....but he doesn't like anyone (the dog that is). Any news on the bottom line of the net David? Edited June 27, 2014 by shaggy1969

Any news on the bottom line of the net David? Mate, you've inspired me to finish off a thread I started 6 months ago (give me a few more hours ... to bring the media together takes a while). There are some net photos on that ... I'll look. If the answer isn't apparent, I ask the Boss (I'm in Australia ATM). Also, it depends on the pond which net is used. On a smaller pond, the Farm owns the net, but the one you asked about belongs to the contracter. ... and it's BIG. How big? This is it being wound up to be taken to the next job. My gut feeling is that there is no weighting to the bottom of the net. The reason being is that most fish are Pla Nin ... and they are not bottom dwellers, so naturally they can be herded and they stay close to the surface. Plus normally there is a drain point in a pond and the fish naturally swim towards that point. ---------------------------------------------------------- I have another thread planned for a Catfish catch (yes, I've discussed this with RBH ... he has assented ... ) and they were more attentive to the bottom of the net and they did one more sweep of the pond then they usually do with harvesting Pla Nin. .

Popular Post riceyummm
I took the first picture last February when the klong was full. Some kids whopping it up in the well maintained water supply that serves my wife's rice paddies. Well maintained? Looks good when it's full, I took the other photos today. Kind of sad really, I don't know how old it is but not made to the same specs as the aqueducts of Rome. Fortunately the gates seem pretty solid.

Popular Post RedBullHorn
My area has been updated in Google Map. (finally after 7 years.) Not only did i survive... I flourish ! 9 ponds farming Clarias catfish. Back then... 10 rai plot of paddy land. Now... The far left pointy pond is for water reserve...about 6m deep and feeds water supply to all ponds. Far right isn't a pond, it's a paddy plot belongs to the Aunty-in-law... Which I'm trying to buy over but she wouldn't sell because she's getting amazing yield because i will always dump my ponds water into her land. She saved on Urea fertilizer...
