Popular Post Robby nz
This one is pushing the limits of what could be considered farming They put in stakes then fill the area inside the stakes with dead branches. Everyday they come down and feed various things into the branches. Today it was chicken gut and last time I was there it was bread, there are also baskets of cabbage leaves there presumably to be chucked in as well. The fish then go to live among the branches and get used to being fed every day. Then after a time a big net is put round the whole lot trapping the fish inside. The branches are then removed and the net slowly drawn in to the river bank. I saw them do the 'pull the net in bit' before and they got a several big baskets of fish of various size and species.

I can't see a ridge but coming from somebody who doesn't go soppy over most dogs , they are indeed good looking dogs. They look well cared for. Popular Post RedBullHorn
The front and the back are pla duk ponds, on the side is the stream. My customer only have hardly 2 sqm to maneuver doing a turn-about to place the tractor for pumping out the pond water. My heart's pounding, one wrong move is all it takes..... Popular Post shaggy1969
Coffee plant update.(5month old) The plants appear to be doing ok,not that much difference in height but new leaves are coming through. The stone building in the back ground is a concrete water holding tank that holds about 20,000 liters of water which hopefully will be enough to see the plants through the dry spells. The water is pumped from a stream now but during the drought it turns into only a trickle.

Australian Dingo.jpg Thai Dingo.jpg I thought of dingo too . Ridgeback and dingo probably derived from similar ancestry and traveled to Oz in the days of the land bridge (or vice versa) before the sea only left the higher ground as Islands .That is why there are so many plants in common between Oz and SE Asia.too .

David48
Mate (Shags), any thoughts of heading back to Thailand again soon? Just in-case the tread goes quiet ... as I know it's difficult/impossible for you to get Internet at the Farm which will upload the magnificent photos! shaggy1969
Mate (Shags), any thoughts of heading back to Thailand again soon? Just in-case the tread goes quiet ... as I know it's difficult/impossible for you to get Internet at the Farm which will upload the magnificent photos! Thankfully I am heading back home next week. As much as I enjoy TVF and the different forums, whenever I am home the internet is the last thing on my mind (no disrespect to you guys). My time with my family is too precious to be using it up sitting behind a computer. "Just in-case the thread goes quiet" if that happens David then maybe I will need to re evaluate continuing with posting myself......It may be a good way to judge if it has run it's length of time or whether people still enjoy posting and looking at the photos.
David48
Mate ... good luck with everything you do there. You have, I'm sure, the full support of all those who have grown to know you through either this thread or other postings. Your lad, Junior, is a world away for you atm and I know the magnet that Family life can feel like ... that irresistible urge to return and unite ... plus the joys of living the Farm life in Thailand. Enjoy, good luck ... and as Mr Spock many times famously ... Live Long and Prosper. p.s. ... who knows ... you might just return and see this thread cuffing along quite nicely ... .
