Unexpected Birth in Bangkok: Coffee Shop Employee Delivers Baby at Petrol Station
Picture courtesy of KhaoSod In a surprising incident on May 18, a 31-year-old coffee shop employee, identified as A, gave birth unexpectedly in a toilet at a petrol station at the entrance of Soi Seri Thai 38, located in the Ram Inthra subdistrict of Khan Na Yao district, Bangkok. The newborn, a baby boy, was found in the toilet bowl with the umbilical cord still attached and was promptly rescued by a quick-response team. Despite the dramatic circumstances, the infant was alive and subsequently taken to the hospital for evaluation. Preliminary findings indicated that A was unaware of her pregnancy, as she had been experiencing regular menstrual cycles. Already a mother of two, she insisted she had no intention of abandoning her child. On the day of the birth, A mistook severe abdominal pains for menstrual cramps and, after delivering the baby, hurried back to her workplace to seek help. Emergency services, along with the police, quickly arrived at the scene following the reports. A recounted her ordeal, explaining she felt intense discomfort at work, which led her to the restroom, not anticipating an imminent birth. When the baby was silent and motionless, A, overwhelmed and dizzy, left to alert her colleagues and get assistance. As police and rescue teams gathered, A stayed inside the coffee shop, overwhelmed by the situation. Upon being approached by the police, she confirmed the baby was hers, reiterating her surprise due to the appearance of regular menstrual cycles, similar to her previous pregnancies. Both mother and child were taken to Nopparat Rajathanee Hospital for further medical care. A affirmed her intent to care for her newborn, expressing shock at the unexpected birth but a strong commitment to her child. Adapted by ASEAN Now from The Thaiger 2025-05-19 -

dying from cancer at home in Thailand
Sorry, not sure if it's the same. You can try typing this in google: "mahidol university faculty of medicine ramayana hospital palliative care" I wish you strength and courage in facing your adversity. And I sincerely hope you find caring people who will help alleviate any suffering. May I also recommend some music? Perhaps this music might soothe the soul? It's Paul Simon's latest album. He was inspired by "the meaning of life in the face of mortality" as I believe he is roughly your age and also facing his own mortality. -

I notice a complete lack of reply from the thread starters and the most vocal on this forum. They know damn well this isn't new and won't comment because they know where the conversation will lead. -

Report Foreign Earnings Taxed Under New Thai Rules - But With Exceptions
It doesn't say exclusively Thais and later says "This rule applies to persons who stay in Thailand for 180 days or more and have foreign income." Maybe if you aren't a person then it won't apply. But I just think this being Thailand the officials will first address how it will affect Thais and the article reflects that priority. I guess we just wait for more details. -
